Gamers who are counting down the days until the release of the latest editions of the Xbox and PlayStation gaming systems at the end of the year may also have something else to look forward to in the not-so-distant future.
In a recent interview, the President of Rockstar North, Leslie Benzie, left the door open to the possibility that latest game in the Grand Theft Auto franchise, GTA V could be expanded to include the coming Xbox One and PlayStation 4 gaming systems.
While Benzie indicated that the company is currently focusing most of its energy on the upcoming release of GTA V for current gaming platforms in mid September, he didn’t close the door on the possibility that the GTA franchise could be expanded in the future to include next generation platforms.
Although Benzie did not provide an exact timeframe for a possible release of GTA V for new platforms, he did indicate that Rockstar games is very much involved in designing and developing concepts for future editions of the GTA franchise, including the coming GTA Online multiplayer PC game being released on October 1st.
Benzie indicated that the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of GTA V are virtually identical. He also said that he is looking forward to monitoring which features in the new GTA Online gaming experience will be most popular with gamers because that will provide valuable insights into which features gamers would like to see expanded in the future.
